About Me
In the early phase of my career, I immersed myself in the world of event management, coordinating and managing diverse events for various organizations. One of the most memorable experiences was being a part of the event management team for the International Kite Festival of Ahmedabad in 2010. It was an eye-opening opportunity to witness the sport of Kite Flying on an international scale.
The French Kite Flyers team, with their impressive skills, flew 'Revolution' Kites, a hi-tech 4-line acrobatic kite, during the festival. This was a revelation for me, as until then, I had perceived kites as simple objects that even kids could handle easily. The beauty and complexity of these kites left a profound impact on me, igniting a desire to delve deeper into the world of kite flying.
During their subsequent visit to Surat, the French delegation offered me the chance to manage their activities. This experience further fuelled my interest, and I decided to study the art of kite making and flying. My journey began with crafting a 'Sled' kite, an American design, which marked my foray into the world of kite creation.
In the midst of all this, my father encouraged me to continue my French language course at Alliance Francaise. To make language learning engaging, I introduced 'Activities based French Learning' and was delighted when the institute's director supported and embraced the idea. I conducted various activities-based language classes, incorporating calligraphy, clay work, origami, and kite making.
With Alliance Francaise's backing, I organized a Bilingual Treasure Hunt to inspire children to embrace foreign languages. The experience was fulfilling as it not only promoted language learning but also fostered creativity and a sense of wonder among the participants.
In 2011, I approached Gujarat Tourism to conduct Kite Workshops for children during the 10-day long kite festival. Initially, I faced challenges in garnering support, but undeterred, I set up my workshops. To my delight, my nephews and niece, in a show of encouragement, participated in the workshops and paid for their sessions.
Buoyed by the success of my endeavours, the following year, I collaborated with a school in Ahmedabad to coordinate Origami kite workshops with Japanese kite flyers. The workshops were a tremendous success, combining cultural exchange, creativity, and the joy of kite flying.
One of the best workshops I conducted during the Ahmedabad Kite Festival was the Balloon Heart Kite, a special invention by Johan. This innovative kite captured the hearts of participants, and I had the privilege of leading the workshop. The Balloon Heart Kite was first flown by my youngest nephew, Master Jehan , a budding artist in our family at the age of 12 years. This young artist symbolized the spirit of creativity and exploration that the kite festival embodies .I am sharing some of his drawings.
Throughout this journey, I have been supported and motivated by my father and my mother . Their unwavering encouragement has been a constant source of strength, propelling me to explore the exciting world of event management and cultural exchange.
Since then, I have continued to be actively involved in conducting workshops during the International Kite Festival in India, China, and European countries. The festival has become an annual highlight for me, and I cherish every opportunity to share my passion for kite making and flying with enthusiastic participants.
One of the most unforgettable experiences in my journey was in 2020 when I had the privilege of conducting workshops at the Statue of Unity, the world's highest monument. It was an awe-inspiring setting to teach and engage with participants from various backgrounds and cultures. The majestic monument served as a symbol of unity and brought together people from all walks of life, making the workshops even more special.
Throughout the years, I have found immense joy in teaching and sharing the art of kite making and flying with people of all ages. Each workshop is a chance to inspire creativity, foster a sense of camaraderie, and create lasting memories for me and also for the participants.
My journey from event management to kite enthusiast and instructor has been a fulfilling and rewarding one. It has not only allowed me to explore my passions but also enabled me to connect with people and cultures from around the world through the simple yet profound joy of kite flying. I look forward to many more years of spreading the love for kites and continuing to be a part of the vibrant kite festival celebrations in India and beyond.
During the enchanting kite festival of Ahmedabad, fate had a beautiful surprise in store for me. It was there that I met my beloved partner, Johan Van Eeckhout. He was invited by Gujarat Tourism to showcase his incredible inflatable kites at the festival. Our shared passion for kites brought us together, and since then, we have embarked on a wonderful journey traveling to different countries, spreading the joy and artistry of kite flying with his amazing creations. Together, we have created cherished memories, and our shared love for kites continues to bring us closer, exploring the world and sharing the magic of kite flying wherever we go.
In addition to my roles in event management, kite workshops, and yoga, I am also blessed with a loving family who have supported me throughout my ventures from India to Belgium. Their unwavering belief in me has been a driving force, enabling me to pursue my passions and make a positive impact on others' lives. As I continue to explore the fascinating worlds of event management, kite flying, yoga, and Indian art, I am filled with gratitude for the journey I am on and excited about the future possibilities that lie ahead.
This year I was thrilled to conduct Kalamkari workshops at the Rijsbergen Kite Festival on the 19th and 20th of August. This Indian folk art holds a special place in my heart, and I love to share its beauty and significance with the local children of Nederland . Moreover, I am in the process of creating my new inflatable kite, designed by Johan, which will feature a stunning Kalamkari design. This unique fusion of art and kite flying embodies the essence of my journey, and I am eager to showcase it to the world. The journey continues, and I am committed to spreading the joy and wonder of kite flying, art, and cultural exchange to new horizons.

On June 21st, International Yoga Day, we held special workshops at Zonneveld School in Bertem, in collaboration with Bertem Townhall and the Embassy of India in Belgium. These sessions introduced children to the philosophy and benefits of yoga, teaching them self-awareness, inner calm, and strength. Yoga encourages young people to connect with their breath, fostering a sense of peace and harmony within themselves and with the world around them. Through these workshops, we celebrated yoga’s message of unity, wellness, and resilience for all.
